How to Use a Pendulum to Strengthen Your Psychic Abilities
We all come into this life with intuitive intelligence and it just takes the right tools and a bit of practice to access it. One of the simplest, most reliable tools to access your intuition is the pendulum. It’s not magic. It’s not woo. It resonates, and anyone can learn to use it.
In this short guide, and in the video I shared on social media today, I’ll walk you through how to begin using a pendulum, why you might want to use one, and how to trust the answers you receive.
A Brief History of the Pendulum
Humans have been using weighted objects suspended by string to access unseen knowledge for centuries. From ancient China and Egypt to medieval Europe, pendulums were tools of divination, healing, and even water detection (also known as dowsing). Today, we use them to fine-tune intuition. What makes them powerful isn’t the tool, it’s you. The pendulum is simply an amplifier for subtle signals your body and energy field already detect.
Why Use a Pendulum?
The pendulum is a direct line to your subconscious and your intuitive truth. It’s especially helpful when:
You're unsure about a decision and want a quick energetic check-in.
You’re practicing your psychic abilities and need to validate an answer.
You want to deepen trust in your own intuitive accuracy.
Pendulums can help cut through noise and self-doubt. They're most effective when used regularly and with reverence. This is not about outsourcing decisions, it’s about attuning to the wisdom you already hold.

Here’s the core practice I share:
Start With Yes, No, and Maybe
Before asking anything “big,” you need to calibrate your pendulum. Each person’s pendulum will move differently, depending on their energy. Here’s how to begin:
Hold your pendulum still. Anchor your elbow if needed.
Ask aloud or silently: “Show me my Yes.” Wait. Observe the way the pendulum moves.
Then ask: “Show me my No.” Again, watch the way the pendulum moves.
Then ask: “Show me Maybe.” The pendulum will also move in a certain direction for this response.
Watch the motion. Your pendulum might swing forward/back for Yes, side-to-side for No, and in a circle for Maybe, or it might be the reverse. What matters is consistency, not direction.
Next, ask a few warm-up questions you already know the answer to:
Is my name [your name]?
Do I live in [your city]?
Was I born in [your birth year]?
You’re not testing the pendulum, you’re training your own system to recognize intuitive alignment.
How to Know if It’s Accurate
The pendulum is a reflection of your inner state. If you’re rushed, anxious, emotionally charged, or looking for a specific answer, it can get murky. The more neutral and grounded you are, the clearer the signal.
Some tips for accuracy:
Center yourself before using it. A few deep breaths go a long way.
Don’t overuse it. Pendulums are not meant for obsessive questioning.
Be specific. Vague questions get vague answers.
Keep your energy field clear. (That’s a whole other post!)
Closing Thoughts
Like any intuitive practice, using a pendulum takes time and patience. It’s not about “getting it right.” It’s about building a relationship, with your own knowledge. If you stay consistent, this small tool becomes a bridge to something much greater: trust in yourself.
We practice this and other intuitive techniques at our Nissa Retreats, where learning to listen to yourself is more than training a skill. It’s a return to who you really are.
